Who We Are
|
The Clear Lake Space Rollers is a group of recreational inline skaters in the Clear Lake area of southeast Houston. Our members range in age from their mid twenties to early seventies and come from all walks of life, but we all have at least one thing in common – we love to skate. We enjoy inline skating for many reasons including fitness, the opportunity to meet other skaters, and most of all for fun. Much of our skating is done on the smooth concrete streets of suburban Clear Lake neighborhoods such as Brookwood, Pinebrook, and Northfork, but we occasionally skate in other areas of metropolitan Houston including River Oaks, Friendswood, Laporte, and Memorial Park. We welcome skaters of all levels and abilities. We suggest newcomers join us at Polly Ranch. This is a 2.1 mile loop so you are never too far from your car. Our most popular skate is the Wednesday night route which starts at 7:00 pm at Brookwood Elementary and runs from 7.6 to over 12 miles depending on which options you choose. The long route is preceded by an easy 3 mile warmup skate at 6:30 pm. On Monday nights we skate the same routes as Wednesday night and on Sunday mornings, we are now skating at Polly Ranch. If you enjoy inline skating and would like to skate with others, come out and join us. We strongly recommend wearing pads and helmets.
